"Just Dance" loser

March 5, 2012 - Kristy MacKaben
My 6-year-old consistently beats me in Wii's "Just Dance." It has nothing to do with her Wii proficiency, considering this is the only video game Julie plays and she only plays it once a week on family game night. It also has nothing to do with her prowess at the dancing. She barely moves and she has never beat anyone else. It has everything to do with my utter lack of rhythm and dance skills. I'm a 33 year-old woman and I admit. I just can't dance. I love to shake it on the dance floor with everyone else, but I'm arguably one of the worst girl dancers you'll meet. I'm fine with a nice, slow dance where there isn't much movement involved. During fast songs, I just have a great time being silly and keeping up with everyone else on the dance floor. But, if it's a choreographed dance where I have to keep the beat to the music, and perform specific dance movements along with everyone else, I will fail every time. I have tried aerobics classes at the gym, and I have walked out on more than one occassion. The other night Julie doubled my score on "Just Dance" and unfortunately that wasn't a shock. At least I'm still having fun!
