Boys and poop

May 31, 2012 - Kristy MacKaben
What is it about boys and poop? I know my son isn't the only one who has a hangup with number 2. He is completely potty trained when it comes to pee, but when it comes to the other, he would rather hide in a corner and do his business. It is so frustrating! And, forget it if someone else is watching him besides his mama. He will not say one word about the mess in his underwear. Today had to be one of Johnny's most embarrassing moments, though he doesn't quite know it yet. While I was at a meeting at the Mirror today, a good friend watched Johnny who loves playing with her 4-year-old son. The boys were playing outside splashing around in a water table when my friend started smelling something rank. She then noticed a pile of you-know-what next to the water table. The odd thing was Johnny's shorts and pullup were still in place, but there was no mistaking who made the mess. Somehow the pullup had become dislodged a little, and Johnny's shorts were a perfect opening for elimination. My poor friend had to clean up that disaster, but it could have been worse. At least they were outside! So, any advice for potty training boys with number 2? I have heard horror stories of little boys having issues even after they turn 4. Please please don't let that be me!
