$10 per tooth??

October 3, 2012 - Kristy MacKaben
What's the going rate for lost teeth these days? I clearly remember finding $1 bills underneath my pillow when I was little. Cost of living increases and inflation have apparently resulted in $10 per tooth in this house, at least according to Scott. We are lost teeth newbies, so we need a little help. Julie is a late bloomer in terms of lost teeth. All of her friends started losing teeth a year or two ago and most are missing at least a handful of teeth, but Julie just lost her first tooth the day after her 7th birthday. Scott and I debated what amount the tooth fairy should leave, and somehow it ended up at $10. That's at least twice as high as the going rate, according to a little poll I put out on Facebook. So, what does the tooth fairy leave your kids? My friend's daughter receives beautifully written notes, complete with pink glitter, from the tooth fairy after every tooth. Our tooth fairy didn't really have the time or patience or nice handwriting to do so in our house. What about yours?
