Baby Weight Hanging on?

I’ve always been a health nut and really into fitness. I love pushing myself to the limit physically and dream about a body that doesn’t jiggle when I run (don’t we all). I never imagined it would be this hard to get back into my old jeans. More than a year has passed since the birth of my daughter and that last bit of baby weight continues to be a stubborn nuisance.

I’m refusing to buy a new wardrobe though my mother and husband both say, “Your body is different now! You may never be where you were before”. That only makes me more determined to reach my goals.

I already eat a healthy diet 85% of the time with my only weakness being sweets. Oreo's in particular. But it’s a manageable addiction, as long as I NEVER buy them and maintain at least 15 feet distance between me and that shiny blue package of deliciousness when someone brings them into the office.

So what am I missing? Competition! I’m very competitive, and nothing motivates me more than a new pair of heels or good ole cash. Make the goal weight-loss and I’m bound for success!

I recently discovered and joined an online weight-loss competition called DietBet.

There are a number of different games with varying lengths of time, weight loss goals, and wagers. This is my first time joining a “diet bet” so I went with the EndOfSummer Slim down with Heidi & Chris Powell. You may know Heidi and Chris from the ABC series, “Extreme Weight Loss”. They post motivating tips along the course of the 4 week contest and interact with your comments, struggles, and successes. Even more motivating is the money!! There are a total of 4,148 players in this game and a total pot of $124,440! Every player that hits their goal gets a portion of the pot. So at the least, you hit your goal and get your $30 wager back. If only half of the players hit their goal, you double your money and so on. There are a little over two weeks left in the challenge and I’m already 50% to my goal….show me the money!

If you need motivation to just keep moving, DietBet recently added a new competition called StepBet. It’s the same principle but instead of pounds lost, its based on steps taken each day!

Sometimes it just takes a little extra push and accountability to hit your goals-good luck!
